Mannheimer Sprachendienst and flexword are one and the same company. Mannheimer Sprachendienst Miš-Čak & Partner has been developing into one of the leading language service providers in Europe since 1992.
flexword®, flexword international communication®, flexword translators & consultants®, flexword medical translations®, flexword specialist translations®, flexword business translations® have been the registered trademarks of Mannheimer Sprachendienst Miš-Čak & Partner for some years now.
Moreover, flexword has its own companies, via which we are represented abroad, namely flexword Inc. in the US, flexword limited in the UK, and flexword doo in Serbia.
Changing the name of the partnership company from Mannheimer Sprachendienst Miš-Čak & Partner to flexword Miš-Čak & Partner was the next logical step given the international nature of our business activities.
In this regard it is important to emphasise that we have merely changed the name. We have not changed the legal status of the company or established a new company and there has been no merger or any other change of corporate form.
The company will continue to exist with the same management, the same registration number in the partnership register and the same rights and obligations.
All the framework agreements, non-disclosure agreements and cooperation agreements concluded with Mannheimer Sprachendienst Miš-Čak & Partner and any other agreements and obligations that Mannheimer Sprachendienst Miš-Čak & Partner has entered into will continue to apply seamlessly.
Please use our online form form this purpose. In this way you can be sure that your registered profile will be checked out quickly by our resources managers and approved as soon as all the necessary details are complete and all the quality requirements have been verified.
The requirements of our quality standards according to DIN EN ISO 9001 stipulate such sample translations.
Your benefit is as follows:
In the event of enquiries by customers with regard to specific language combinations, specialist fields, CAT tools, we propose anonymous profiles of our premium translators including test translations to our customers.
Anonymisation also has the advantage that, if test translations are rejected, these have no negative implications for the translator profile.
Therefore, it is an advantage if a test translation of a neutral text is available because translations for other customers are, of course, never passed on for data protection reasons.
Flexword international communication® is a registered brand name and the logo flexword international communication® in the signature is a registered, protected trademark. The correct and full name of the company according to the statutory provisions of the German law on partnership companies is: flexword Miš-Čak & Partner, Translators & Consultants.
Another important reason why the company name on your invoice must at least contain the addition “Miš-Čak & Partner” is as follows:
Besides the registered partnership company flexword Miš-Čak & Partner, Translators & Consultants, there is also the UK company flexword limited, which maintains business premises in Germany under the same address. These two companies must be kept strictly separate on invoices and be clearly distinguished from one another.
The German tax authorities and the tax authorities of all EU countries have strict requirements that invoices have to meet. As we operate internationally and our freelancers as based all over the world, it is difficult for some translators to understand why their invoices have to be absolutely correct. Making sure invoices are absolutely accurate and legally compliant protects not only us as the client from negative consequences in the event of tax audits, but also you as the contractor in the worst case payments of tax arrears or fines that far exceed the receipts may be incurred if invoices are not issued correctly.
Your project manager has acted completely correctly in accordance with our General Business Conditions. You should not under any circumstances use GoogleTranslate or any other publicly accessible translation tools with a publicly accessible database on translation projects for flexword or type in or use them to translate parts of sentences from the texts you have been given to translate. The key reasons for this strict ban are as follows:
All texts entered in GoogleTranslate or comparable translation databases are stored by the provider. However, according to our General Business Conditions, you are obliged to comply with data protection regulations and not make the texts available to third parties. This also applies to excerpts from texts or parts of sentences. If you violate these data protection provisions, it may have unforeseeable legal consequences or lead to claims for damages.
The second reason for the strict ban on using GoogleTranslate and other machine translation tools are our high quality standards, which must not be undermined under any circumstances. According to the current state of technology considerable progress is being made in the field of machine translation, but dealing with machine translations requires a high level of know-how and above-average translating skills to be able to check texts translated in this manner for grammatical mistakes or errors in terms of meaning that can be easily overlooked.
flexword is currently testing tools and workflows for machine translation within our local servers. However, the current state of technology does not on any account allow the large-scale use of translation engines for most types of text.
Our invoice verification staff try to enter your invoice in the system as unbureaucratically and quickly as possible and release it for payment.
Because of the size of the company and the international nature of our business relationships flexword is subject to regular tax audits. Naturally, we apply all the national and EU tax regulations without exception, for our protection and also in the interests of our business partners.
The statutory requirements cover, for example, the following information: Name and address of the issuer, name and address of the recipient, invoice date, date when the service was performed, a tax number or, if applicable, the VAT ID no. and a consecutive invoice number.
Depending on the country in which you have your bank account and the currency of your bank account, our accounts payable department will recommend a payment mode to you – this may be a PayPal or Skrill account, payment via Transferwise or payment directly to your account in the national currency.
When recommending a payment mode we always take into account the amount of transaction fees that will be incurred.
flexword has been on the translation market for 25 years. flexword is well-known in the translation world and has built up a good reputation amongst translators and interpreters over two decades.
Just take a look at our Proz profile – here you will find lots and lots of positive ratings about flexword, which give a very good description of our approach and how we deal fairly with our partners.
We know that ratings in industry portals are very important for our colleagues.
However, it is company policy at flexword not to submit ratings in portals or give written references.
Along with the liability and insurance aspects, this rule is based on the following reasons:
flexword will never give negative reviews about its business partners in portals, to translation or interpreting colleagues or to other third parties.
Conversely, this must mean that we cannot submit any positive reviews, otherwise we could be accused of giving ratings which are one-sided.
Our standard term of payment is 30 days.
Shorter terms of payment combined with special terms can also be agreed for individual projects or in individual agreements.
