Quality management: flexword certified to EN 9001 for the twelfth time in a row

by flexword / February 03, 2017 / in News Releases

NEWS RELEASE

January, 2017

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

(Mannheim, January 2017) flexword Translators & Consultants, one of the leading language service providers in Germany, has once again been certified to two important EN standards by the German Association for Technical Inspection (TÜV) in December.

The company with its headquarters in Mannheim, Germany, and offices in Great Britain, the USA and Serbia has excelled in the annual audits since 2005. flexword, with a portfolio of services including translations, interpreting and language service consultation, has demonstrated that the day-to-day work of its staff meets all the relevant standards. The EN ISO 9001 standard for quality management systems is recognised internationally and applies to all industries. The EN 15038 standard has been specially developed for translation service providers and is of central importance for this industry.

“We are delighted to have been certified to ISO 9001 for the twelfth consecutive year. The smooth-running audit process confirms that we are working efficiently and expertly in all areas and that we are also continuously improving”, explained Goranka Miš-Cak, founder and Managing Director of flexword. To successfully achieve certification to ISO 9001, all areas of quality management are inspected by an auditor commissioned by TÜV. This includes, for example, procedures and workflows, monitoring and corrective measures as well as the correct documentation of all processes. In addition, customer satisfaction and continual improvement also play a role. ISO 9001 is the most widespread and most important standard for companies from all branches across the globe. With EN 15038, which is valid in parallel with the successor standard EN ISO 17100, in 2006 a European-wide standard especially for translation service providers was created, which covers all aspects of translation work. Miš-Cak further stated that “the goal of this standard is to ensure that only professional translators and proofreaders are involved in the many stages of producing a translation. We were one of the first companies to be certified to EN 15038 and can proudly state that we have maintained our high standards over the years. And this is not lost on our customers – we currently have a satisfaction level of around 98% for new customers.” flexword is certified annually by TÜV Saarland and the certificate is valid for a period of twelve months.

flexword Translators & Consultants was founded back in 1992 and, since then, has only employed professional, mother-tongue translators. As such, flexword has set a further quality standard on the market which goes beyond the requirements of the EN standards.
