(Mannheim, August 2019) With its innovative customer portal, the Mannheim-based language service provider flexword Translators & Consultants is expanding its customer service and setting new standards for the industry. The new tool that goes by the name of flexSavvy now offers both existing and new customers the chance to determine the expected costs and delivery date for translation services in a very short space of time. The highlight: An explanatory function explains to new customers what is involved in the selected service and how this impacts upon the price and delivery time step by step. Existing customers and interested parties who have already worked with translation services can connect their own translation memory – a bilingual database of already translated sentences and phrases. The intelligent system, whose name speaks for itself, takes account of various factors including the customer status, i.e., new or existing customer, large or single order as well as the length and complexity of the texts, is able to set a tailored price. This is a real innovation for the language service provider sector.

Those interested must enter the relevant information and company data into the mask integrated into the homepage. Existing customers can have the system enabled directly by the responsible project management team without having to use the login mask. They can also access further functions such as an overview of current jobs and a download function for files which are ready for delivery. Those who have not worked with translation service providers before will be precisely informed at each step about the respective services and the associated costs and delivery times for the various options, e.g., whether final editing by another specialist translator is recommended. Alternatively, the user can specify a desired delivery date for the order. Customers who have already worked with flexword or who have their own translation database, can connect their translation memory via the customer portal; this not only saves time and money, but also guarantees consistent terminology. flexSavvy is compatible with SDL Trados and MemoQ, the most important CAT tools on the market. Standard functions such as the up- and downloading of files, the creation of customer and company data for the stress-free handling of organisational matters as well as direct contact with a flexword project manager round off the flexSavvy technical service package.

The new tool also offers advantages for the flexword project managers: For example, the days of e-mail correspondence with, in part, huge attachments are now a thing of the past. Customer and project data is transferred in a single step, which, in turn, facilitates the organisational workflows for project management – the focus is now firmly on the quality of the language services and accurate offer preparation. At flexword, the project managers check all incoming orders for plausibility and peculiarities, such as text in graphics or large quantities of numbers in Excel sheets, in order to calculate and adjust the services and quotes as precisely as possible.
